In August 2023, Vandrestaven launched a pilot project aiming to establish a long term cultural exchange between the rural area of Mallbacken, Lysvik (SE) and contemporary art scenes in larger cities.

The pilot project consisted of a residency, two dinner talks, ending in a one-day festival, all happening at Ramhea - the 'Peoples House' of Mallbacken. This year we invited two artists to stay and work on site, developing artworks with and for the local milieu.

Saturday August 12, the artists in residence presented their projects in a live program and sculptural park, joined by six local and international invited artists.

Vandrestaven look forward to continue this project in a biennial format, with a Residency and Festival summer 2025. An Open Call will be announced!
